Problem Receiving Emails from PAMP Yahoo!Groups

We have been experiencing a lot of members reporting issues with their PAMP emails abruptly stopping the past week. The problem was twofold.

  • There was a Yahoo!Mail problem which should now be fully solved. Everyone who was falsely bounced because of Yahoo's 10/23 glitch should now be reactivated and receiving email (unless something else is also going on with their account).
  • However SBCGlobal (which also includes the pacbell, swbell, snet, ameritech, prodigy, wans, nvbell, and flash domains) apparently had another configuration issue, which caused them to bounce email from Groups sent to legitimate users. SBC believe they fixed the problem on 11/2. If you have an SBC address please check your bounce status within Yahoo!Groups.

Even if you do not not have a Yahoo or an SBC addresses, the first thing you should try if you are not receiving emails from the Club's lists is to try to unbounce yourself. If are still having issues after doing so please contact the help team.

Searching on the PAMP Website

The PAMP Website has two search functions, both located in the green search box. At the top of the box is Site Search, which searches the entire site. Underneath it is a search function for the PAMP email archives, which is set off by a magnifying glass. This function is available to members only.

The archive search searches through all of the email postings that have ever been posted on the PAMP Yahoogroups site. Since the site was averaging almost 2,000 emails a month last year, this is a large number of emails.

To search the PAMP Website, including the small number of email archives that are located on the Resources Page, simply type a word or phrase into the box and click OK.

How to use this Website

The new PAMP website was created using the Drupal Content Management system. Instead of hard-coded pages with links, we have created a frame that displays information. Drupal takes some getting used to, but we feel that it solves our information problems very well.

Some things to note about our website:
The two side columns are a fixed width. The middle column size can be adjusted by moving your window, making it wider or narrower. If your window is too narrow, information may 'jump' down, so that a white space appears at the top of your screen. If this happens, simply widen the window and the information will jump back.
